FAQs

To ensure that your experience of the I-MED Radiology Doctors' Conference is as enjoyable as possible, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions which will hopefully provide you with all the information you need.

We encourage you to read through this before you attend. Please contact us if you have a question that we haven’t answered.

Where is the Conference venue? 

The Conference will be held at The Star, 1 Casino Dr, Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD 4128.

I am travelling from overseas, what do I need to do to enter the Country? 

Australian borders are now open to the rest of the world! For the latest news and documents required for entry, please see the Department of Health website.

Is there parking at the venue?

Please note that while I-MED will cover self-parking costs at The Star Grand, carpark availability is not guaranteed as part of your conference booking. With limited parking spaces, guests are encouraged to take advantage of the various public transport options, or the scheduled ground transfers provided by the Conference Organizers (if traveling from the airport). The Star Grand carpark is regularly at full capacity during peak periods, such as Friday and Saturday evenings.

If you do wish to use the self-parking option, please park in The Star Grand carpark (accessible off Hooker Boulevard/Nerang-Broadbeach Rd, or the Gold Coast Highway and T E Peters Drive) and then claim your parking exit ticket from a staff member at the Conference information desk before exiting the hotel.

The Star Grand offers guests the option of valet parking for AUD $65 per night, per car. However, I-MED will not cover valet parking charges.

What is the dress code for the conference?

Dress code for the conference is business attire. 

What is the dress code for the Gala Dinner?

Dress code for the Gala Dinner is semi-formal. 

What time does the Registration Desk open?

The Registration Desk will be open in the Event Centre Gallery on 6 September: 18:00 - 21:00, 7 September: 0700 - 17:00, 8 September 07:30 - 15:00. 
 

Accommodation Requirement

For delegates residing outside of Gold Coast Metropolitan Area, will be offered a 2-nights stay at The Star Grand. While delegates residing in Gold Coast Metropolitan Area will be offered a 1-night stay at the hotel (check-in on Saturday). 

Please note that the hotel requires a credit/debit card upon check in to cover any incidentals.

Can I bring my family along to Gold Coast for the weekend?

Yes, you may bring your partner, children and/or family members. You can have one additional person stay in the same room as you, however, their breakfast on Saturday will not be included. They may arrange their own breakfast and settle the charge at the restaurant or charge to your room at a rate of $39.90 per guest.

If you are bringing additional family members you will need to purchase a second room and cover their meals at your own expense. 

Please email Ke. Creative Events through claudine@kecreative.com.au and send your requirements so we can arrange your accommodation for your family. Room rates depend on room availability.

Flights - Our travel agency will be in touch with you directly to book your flights to and from Gold Coast. If you require additional flights for your family members, they can also be arranged through our travel partner and billed separately.  

Please also note that while partners are welcome to attend the Conference dinner on Saturday night and Sunday breakfast session, neither event is suitable for children.

Smoking

The Star Gold Coast is a non-smoking venue. However, guests can smoke outside in designated areas.

How do I gain entry to the Conference sessions?

All delegates and exhibitors will be provided with a name badge, which will give you access to all sessions. Please ensure you always wear your name badge.

I have special dietary requirements – will I be served the correct food?

If you have advised Ke. Creative Events of any special dietary requirements (you are able to do so in the registration form), the caterers at each function will be notified. A special buffet table will be set during the day for special diets. If you are unsure, please see the staff at the Registration Desk.

Will there be internet available?

Free wireless internet access is available for the duration of the Conference. The password and login details will be available closer to the Conference.

PLEASE NOTE:  The internet is not to be used to view or download any illicit material, including movies, music etc.

How will I know if there have been any changes to the program?

Any changes to the conference program will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Ke. Creative Events staff at the Registration Desk in the Event Centre Gallery.

Mobile Phones

As a courtesy to other delegates, please ensure that all mobile phones are turned off or in silent mode during all sessions.

Photographs, videos, recording of sessions

Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker.

Accident or loss

The members of the Conference organising committee and Ke. Creative accept no liability for personal accident or loss, or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Neither do we accept liability for any equipment nor software brought to the Conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party.

Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise KE Creative Staff if this does occur.
