To ensure that your visit to Melbourne and the experience of the First Nations Clean Energy Symposium is as enjoyable as possible, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions which will hopefully provide you with all the information you need.

Where is the Symposium venue? 

The Symposium will be held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne - 123 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000.

I am travelling from overseas, what do I need to do to enter the Country? 

Australian borders are now open to the rest of the world! For the latest news and documents required for entry, please see the Department of Health website.

Is there parking at the venue?

Grand Hyatt Melbourne offers guests the option of valet parking for AUD $90 per night, per car. Entry is via our Russell Street driveway and their Concierge team will be pleased to assist you. To confirm a reservation, please contact +61 3 9653 4510 or email ghmelbourne.concierge@hyatt.com

Alternatively, the Grand Hotel Group offers undercover 24-hour, multi-level car parking conveniently located underneath the hotel. Access is via their Russell Street driveway or the car park entrance off Flinders Lane. The car park has a height restriction of 2 metres.

  • Early Bird (Provisional) rate is $20, entry should be between 0600-1000 and exit after 1330
  • 1/2 – $10
  • 1hr – $23
  • 2hrs – $48
  • 3hrs – $60
  • 4hrs+ – $70

Afternoon/Night rate is $12*, it applies after 1500 and exits before 0600 the next day.

What is the dress code for the conference?

Dress code is smart casual.

What time does the Registration Desk open?

The Registration Desk will be open in the Savoy Pre-Function space on 21 July 2022 from 0800 – 1730.

COVID SAFE

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic we are experiencing, planning of the program may be different to events you’ve attended previously.

As the Events Team navigate ongoing changes with travel restrictions and social distancing policies, your comfort and safety are always front of mind. The Events Team will keep you informed of any changes that may impact your ability to travel and your overall safety.

If at any stage you develop any COVID-19 related symptoms prior to your attendance, however mild, we request that you do not attend the event and inform a member of the Event Team. You should seek medical advice and get tested immediately.

Smoking

Grand Hyatt Melbourne is a non-smoking venue. However, guests can smoke outside in designated areas.

How do I gain entry to the Conference sessions?

All delegates and exhibitors will be provided with a name badge, which will give you access to all sessions. Please ensure you always wear your name badge.

I have special dietary requirements – will I be served the correct food?

If you have advised KE Creative Events of any special dietary requirements (you are able to do so in the registration form), the caterers at each function have been provided these. A special buffet table will be set during the day for special diets. If you are unsure, please see the staff at the Registration Desk.

Will there be internet available?

Free wireless internet access is available for the duration of the Conference. The password and login details will be available closer to the Conference.

PLEASE NOTE:  The internet is not to be used to view or download any illicit material, including movies, music etc.

How will I know if there have been any changes to the program?

Any changes to the conference program will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with KE Creative Events staff at the Registration Desk.

Mobile Phones

As a courtesy to other delegates, please ensure that all mobile phones are turned off or in silent mode during all sessions.

Photographs, videos, recording of sessions

Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker.


What if I need to cancel?

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend the Conference after submitting a registration form, are most welcome to nominate a substitute. In the case of a cancellation, delegates must inform KE Creative Events in writing of their inability to attend. A refund of the registration fee, less a cancellation fee of $110.00 (AUD$) including GST will be made 14 days after the date of cancellation. 

NO refunds will be made after 5:00 PM on 18 July 2022.

Any changes made to a registration within seven (7) days of the conference will incur a $40.00 administrative fee.

Accident or loss

The members of the Conference organising committee and KE Creative accept no liability for personal accident or loss, or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Neither do we accept liability for any equipment nor software brought to the Conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party.

Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise KE Creative Staff if this does occur.
